LAKEWOOD, NJ (Sept. 4, 2025) - The 2024 CACC Champion Georgian Court Women's Volleyball takes the court for the first time in 2025 with three games in two days.

Previously vs. Charleston
• This is the first ever meeting between Georgian Court and Charleston.
Previously vs. West Chester
• Despite being out of region opponents, Georgian Court and West Chester have seen a lot of each other.
• The Golden Rams are 10-4 all-time against the Lions with all 14 matches coming in the last 16 seasons.
• Georgian Court has taken two of the last three from WCU after a six-game West Chester winning streak.
• Last year in Lakewood, Georgian Court swept West Chester, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.
• The Lions hit .265 as a team with nine service aces and 16 total blocks.Â
Previously vs. Millersville
• Georgian Court picked up their first-ever win against Millersville last season on the road.
• The Lions won in five sets in what was one of their patented reverse sweeps from 2024.
• All-time Millersville holds a 4-1 series lead over the Lions.
• GCU hit .269 and averaged 16 digs per set.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court was back in the NCAA East Region Championship last season.
• After winning their first game, the Lions fell to American International in the semifinals, 3-0 (17-25, 12-25, 15-25).
• It was the conclusion of a very successful season for Georgian Court who won the CACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
• The Lions won an NCAA Tournament game for just the second time in program history and first since 2008.Â

Iciar Zayas needs 34 assists to reach 2000 in her career. She'd be just the fourth Lion to ever record 2000 assists.

Preseason Rankings
• Coming into the season the Lions were picked to finish in second in the CACC South Division behind Jefferson.
• GCU led the CACC South last year en route to a tournament championship as well.Â
Graduation Day
• Georgian Court will have a different look from the team that finished 2024.
• The Lions graduated nine seniors last year, many of whom saw significant time on the floor.
• There are only seven Lions back in 2025 who saw action a season ago, totaling 110 sets.
• Georgian Court scored 1,818 points last year with just 7% back in 2025 and 5% of all kills.Â
About Charleston
• Charleston had a terrific season in 2024 winning 25 games.
• They went 12-3 in the Mountain East regular season, but were ousted in the conference tournament quarterfinals which ended their season.
• Despite their early postseason exit, the Golden Eagles were picked to finish first in the MEC South Division for 2025.
• Charleston has a significant change as Adam Hamad has taken over head coaching duties for the Golden Eagles.
• The Golden Eagles offense had five score more than 200 points, but only two return and none of their top-three.
About West Chester
• West Chester is coming off a 13-15 finish to 2024 where they went 5-9 in the PSAC and failed to make the postseason tournament.Â
• To start the 2025 season, the Golden Rams were picked to finish sixth in the PSAC East.Â
• The Golden Rams do return All-PSAC East honoree Zoe Haines who led the team with 280 kills.
• West Chester utilized a pair of setters last year and both Lacie Brown and Megan St. Jean are back in the fold for the new year.Â
About Millersville
• Picked one spot ahead of West Chester in the PSAC East Coaches Poll is Millersville.
• After a .500 season both overall (15-15) and in the PSAC (7-7), the Marauders were picked to finish fifth this season in the PSAC East.
• Millersville did make the PSAC Tournament last year for the first time since 2019, but were downed in four sets in their opening round game.
• The team looks to get contributions from 2024 PSAC East Freshman of the Year Kylee Schurig.
• While they lost their primary setter, a good chunk of their offense is back in kills lead Taylor Welter and blocks leader Carolina Halsey.Â
