CALDWELL, NJ (Jan. 26, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball couldn't carry their momentum from Wednesday night's win into Saturday at Caldwell. The Lions put themselves in a hole early, trailing 43-18 at the half, and despite a 46-point second-half outburst, fell to the Cougars, 87-64.
How it Happened
• Caldwell finished the game shooting better than 50% from the floor hitting 34-66 and were 6-18 from three. GCU meanwhile shot just 34% overall and were 6-27 behind the arc.
• Neither team shot well at the foul line as the Lions were 20-32 and the Cougars 13-20.
• Caldwell had a small edge on the glass, 42-38. Georgian Court was up in offensive rebounds, 15-13 and 12-6 in second-chance points.
• Turnover numbers were close. Georgian Court lost the ball just 13 times and Caldwell 11. The Cougars outscored the Lions 19-12 in points off turnovers though.
First Half
• The first half was one the Lions would like to forget. They shot just 21% overall hitting 5-24 from the floor and trailed 43-18.
• The Lions high-scorer in the half had just three points.
• Caldwell was able to get ahead early and led 16-3 a little more than five minutes into the game.
• The Cougars used a 12-0 run to really get out in front and led 30-8 with 6:32 to play in the half.
• Georgian Court's defense was unable to slow down Caldwell. They kept scoring, including a buzzer-beating layup to end the half up 43-18.
2nd Half
• The teams were trading points back-and-forth for the start of the second.
• Caldwell extended their lead over 30 leading 60-29 after a pair of free throws.
• The lead stayed in the 20's for nearly the entire second half. Eli Nix made a jumper with 2:12 left to get the game to within 19, but the Cougars finished scoring four straight and went on to win 87-64.

Cam Edmonds scored a team-best 13 points. Nine came at the free throw line where he was 9-13 with five rebounds and three assists.
• Eli Nix was in double-figures scoring 10.

Kam Waters added 10 as well on 2-3 shooting behind the arc.

Jaycen Santucci added nine points and seven rebounds.
• Donald James-Imo was 3-4 for eight points.Â
For the Cougars
• Melvin Evans was 6-10 overall and had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists.
• Terence Thompson scored 14 as well with six rebounds.
• Kirk Parsons was 4-5 from the floor for 10 points.
• DeAngelo Horn and Jaiden Williams each scored 12 points.
