Lakewood, NJ (Jan.6th, 2026) -The Lions were aiming for their third straight win Tuesday but came up short, falling 69–62 in a tightly contested game against Goldey-Beacom.
1st Half
• Goldey-Beacom opened the game strong, shooting 55% from the floor while holding GCU to just 32%.
• Despite the slow shooting start, the Lions carried an 18–16 lead going into the second.
• Gillette was an offensive spark for the Lions, hitting four straight points in the second quarter.
• The Lightning's Lydia Betz was making sure Goldey stayed ahead with seven straight points.
• The Lions trailed by five going into the second half.
2nd Half
• The second half featured several attempts by the Lions to close the gap, but Goldey-Beacom managed to stay ahead.
• Amyah Bray had a three to cut the Lions deficit to two, followed by two free throws from Imani Gillette to tie the game.
• Goldey-Beacom closed the quarter with a free throw and a layup to take a three-point cushion.
• A 4th quarter run from GBC extended the lead to nine.
• The Lions were unable to come back from this and fell 69-62.

• Imani Gillette posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
• Amyah Bray had 18 points as well.
For the Lightning
• Lydia Betz led the Lightning with 26 points and six blocks.
• Rory Ciszkowski had 13 points.
