NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 16, 2026) – Georgian Court men's soccer senior standout Gijs van Eif has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of September.

The award recognizes combined excellence in athletics, academics, and community service.

The Kortenhoef, Netherlands native recorded 20 points on seven goals and six assists in nine August/September starts. At the end of September, he led the league in goals, assists, and points, building off a 2025 season that saw him earn First Team All-CACC accolades.

van Eif, a Business Administration major, currently has a 3.83 GPA and has been named to both the CACC Academic Honor Roll and the CACC All-Academic team during his time at GCU. He works closely with St. Vincent's Church, organizing events with church leaders and helping with donations.

A two-time First Team All-CACC selection, he is the first GCU student-athlete to win the award since women's lacrosse senior Caitlin Petrellese in March of 2026.

van Eif is the first monthly honoree for the 2026-27 academic year. The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out from September to May each academic year. It recognizes one student-athlete from any sport active during that month.
