Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

First End of a Back-to-Back Ends in Scoreless Draw

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 10, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer started a back-to-back weekend Friday afternoon taking on CACC rival, Felician. In an evenly matched 90 minutes, neither team was able to put a ball into the back of the net and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. The draw is the Lions first in conference play and puts them at 2-0-1 in the league, 5-2-3 overall.

How it Happened
• Nearly all of the stats were close, starting with possession which slightly favored the Golden Falcons, 51%-49%.
• Shots were also close with a 13-11 advantage for the Golden Falcons. However GCU led 6-4 in shots on goal.
• Felician was able to earn more corner kicks, 6-2 and GCU was whistled twice for offsides.
• A chippy game at times, but it might be remembered more for the fouls that weren't called. Felician was called for eight and GCU six. The Golden Falcons also drew two yellow cards to the Lions one.
1st Half
• It was a slow-moving game, especially early on. Gijs van Eif had the only shot in the first 10 minutes and that missed wide.
• Maybe the best chance in the match though came from Leo Elder in the 15th minute. He was the recipient of a cross in the box and put a good header on it, but right into the Felician keeper's chest.
• A few minute later, the Golden Falcons had a chance with a shot from inside the 18 that went high.
• There were a handful of shots in the rest of the half, but no real dangerous opportunities and the first half ended without a goal.
2nd Half
• Felician was in control of the ball more in the second half and had the Lions on the heals at the start.
• They got off six shots in a five minute span along with a pair of corner kicks, but the Lions defense held their own.
• The Lions were mounting a bit of pressure late. Gijs van Eif had a decent chance with less than 10 minutes to go, but his one-time shot went high and wide.
• GCU got a free kick in the closing seconds, but couldn't make anything of it and the game ended without a goal being scored.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Lennox Blue Lebelt made four saves for the shutout.
• Gijs van Eif took a game-high four shots.
• Tim Wilk was the only Lion with two shots on goal.

For the Golden Falcons
• Mathias Kristofferson made six saves in net.
• Bruno Arenal Gutierrez and Andre Cunha each had two shots on goal.
• Cunha and Michel Bose each fired off three shots.

News and Notes
• This is the second time in program history the Lions will play back-to-back days.
• Just like the last time in 2018, the first game not only ended in a draw, but in a scoreless draw as well.
• Gijs van Eif took his 100th career shot on goal.
• Bryan Sanchez played in his 30th career game.
• This is the fourth draw in the history of the series with Felician and the first scoreless draw.
• This is the Lions first scoreless draw since the 2023 season went they went 0-0 at home against Chestnut Hill.
