LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 10, 2025) - Georgian Court Acrobatics and Tumbling started their 2026 season with a strong win on the road. 

In the compulsory event to start the meet, Georgian Court scored a 28.4. They scored a 6.54 in the acro portion, followed by a 8.85 in the pyramid, 8.90 in the toss and a program best 4.20 in the tumbling. American International competed in just acro and pyramid sections and received a 6 and 4.55. 

The Lions started the acro portion with a program record in the 5-element scoring a 7.60. The finished the event scoring a 23.55, getting 7.15  points in the 6-element and 8.80 in the 7-element. AIC scored a total of 18.85 in the three acro heats.

The open pyramid the Lions scored a 9.50. They scored an 8.95 in the inversion and a 9.25 in the synchronized pyramid for an even total of 27.70. 

American International scored a 10.95.

To start the second half, Georgian Court scored 24.45 in the toss event. They totaled an 8.20 in the 450 Salto, 7.70 in the synchronized and 8.55 in the open toss.

The final event before the team event was tumbling. GCU started out with a 5.75 in the duo pass, 6.1 in the trio pass and 6.65 in the quad pass. In the individual passes, the Lions scored a 6.65 in the aerial pass,  a 7.45 in the 6-element and a 7.8 in the open pass, giving the Lions a 41.425 total for tumbling.

American International scored 16.950 in the tumbling portion, earning 6.50 in the duo pass, 4.150 in the trio, and 6.30 in the 6-element pass.

In the team event, the Lions totaled 60.02 points. 

The Lions are back on the road next week, heading to LIU on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
