LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 14, 2026) - With 7:09 to play, a
Jaycen Santucci driving layup brought Georgian Court to within six of conference leaders Felician. The Golden Falcons rallied though and finished the game on a 21-14 run to put the Lions away, 78-65. For most of the game, the score was within 10 points until the final minutes, a far departure from their first meeting in Rutherford back in January. The loss put the Lions at 8-16 this season and 5-11 in CACC play.
How it Happened
• The teams were nearly even shooting the ball. Felician was at 44% for the game while the Lions were at 43.4%. That includes going 14-26 in the second half.
• Most of the baskets came inside the arc. Felician made 3-11 and the Lions 4-18 from distance. In the second half, the teams combined to shoot 1-10 beyond the arc.
• Felician was able get some points at the foul line. They were a perfect 9-9 at the line while GCU was just 15-25.Â
• The Golden Falcons were also strong on the glass, outrebounding GCU 43-33 with a 17-8 advantage on the offensive end. Felician added 17 second-chance points.
• Georgian Court had trouble holding onto the ball, losing it 16 times to the Golden Falcons 10. Felician also scored 17 points off turnovers.Â
1st Half
•

• Felician answered scoring four straight and despite how close the game remained, led the rest of the way.
• Georgian Court trailed by one, 10-9, four minutes in, when the Golden Falcons started to put some distance between. They scored nine straight to go up 10.
• Even with the 9-0 run, Felician still couldn't create too much separation. Over a span of 7:55, GCU scored just two points, going 1-11 from the floor with four turnovers. The Golden Falcons scored a bit, but were just 3-12 when they could have done real damage.
•
Taheen Braswell-Brown ended the funk with a three-pointer getting the Lions back within seven.Â
• A three by Edmonds and a jumper from
Jacob Santiago made it a five-point game, 27-22 with 3:48 left in the half.
• Felician was very good at the ends of halves. In the first, they closed on a 10-4 run over the final 3:12 and led by double-digits at the break, 37-27.
2nd Half
• Out of the break, Felician took their largest lead to that point, 43-30, on a layup two minutes into the half.
• Again when it seemed like things might get out of hand for the Lions, they fought back. A three-point play from Santucci made it a nine-point game, 49-40, with 14:11 remaining in the game.
• The teams traded baskets for a bit. Santucci had a chance at another and-one, but couldn't convert. His layup made it a six-point game though, 57-51, with just over seven minutes left.
• In the final five minutes, Felician finally started to pull away. They scored nine straight in 2:24 to took their largest lead, 74-57.
