Lions Fall in Second Home Game of Season

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 21st, 2026) - In the second home game of the season, the Lions dropped 9-6 against Shippensburg. 

How it Happened
• Shippensburg had 26 shots compared to the Lions 17.
• GCU turned the ball over 29 times, Shippensburg just 19. 
• Draw controls were even 7-7. 
• The Raiders had 30 ground balls and the Lions 27.

1st Quarter
• The Raiders struck first, Brynn Hauck opened up scoring five minutes in. 
• Seven minutes later, GCU's Jill Konschak had her first goal of the season assisted from Adrianna Mosca. 
2nd Quarter
• Shippensburg's Aubrey Bailey found the net from a pass from her sister Alexa Bailey
• Shannon Wood had another goal for The Raiders to give them a two goal lead. 
 Caitlin Petrellese scored with five minutes left to cut it to one.
Brynn Hauck had her second goal of the game with just four seconds left of the half. 
3rd Quarter
• Another two goals for Shippensburg to open the third quarter and put them up 5-2. 
Jill Konschak had another goal to keep the Lions close. 
• Thirty seconds after the Raiders 6th goal, GCUs Caitlin Petrellese put another goal on the board for the Lions. 
Alexa Bailey's goal with five minutes left put the score 7-4 going into quarter four. 
4th Quarter
• Shippensburg's Grace Demarzio had a goal four minutes into the quarter that gave them an 8-4 lead. 
Nena Menard scored two goals for the Lions, hoping to spark a late run.
• A Shippensburg goal with a minute left sealed the win. 

Lion Stat Leaders
Nena Menard had two goals and four draw controls. 
• Caitlin Petrellese also had two goals and seven ground balls. 
Jill Konschak and four ground balls. 

For the Raiders
Brynn Hauck had three goals. 
• Grace DeMarzio had one goal, nine ground balls, and six caused turnovers. 
• Shannon Wood had one goal, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
