NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 30, 2026) - With the 2026 season approaching, Georgian Court women's lacrosse has been selected to finish fourth in the CACC preseason poll.
Defending CACC champions Dominican were selected to finish first, receiving eight first-place votes. Following behind them were Jefferson and Wilmington, who each received one first-place vote. Georgian Court was picked to finish fourth. Rounding out the poll are Holy Family, Bridgeport, and Chestnut Hill, followed by Caldwell, Felician, and Post.
A year ago, GCU finished 8-11Â and 6-3Â in the CACC. The Lions made it to the second round of the playoffs until they fell 20-5Â to Dominican who would go on and win the CACC.Â
The season opens on home turf Feb. 17 against Mercy before the Lions return home that Saturday to face Shippensburg. Georgian Court then heads on the road for the next four weeks, traveling to North Carolina for two games. CACC play opens at home on March 21 against Bridgeport.
The Lions graduated just three seniors and welcomed seven freshmen to the roster. Senior Caitlin Petrellese, a First Team All-CACC midfielder, is a key returner after scoring 48 goals last season. Nena Menard, last year's CACC Rookie of the Year, also returns as an offensive spark after tallying 39 goals as a freshman and earning CACC Rookie of the Week honors four times.
