BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2026) - While the sun continued to fall in Lakewood, it was nothing but sunshine for Lions Baseball who continued their series with the Lynn Fighting Knights. GCU and Lynn played a single game to complete their three-game set. Lynn finished off the sweep of GCU with a 35-3 win.
How it Happened
• Lynn scored 25 runs on 29 hits and played error-free baseball in the field.
• Georgian Court scored three runs in all three games of the series. Their three today came on five hits.
• The Lions made two errors leading to four unearned runs.
• Lion pitchers walked eight and hit three batters while at the plate GCU fanned 11 times.Â
• Lynn opened the scoring plating two on a two-out double in the first.
• The Lions got one back as Matt DiOttavino brought in
Brian Guzman with a ground out.
• Another two-RBI double made it a 4-1 game in favor of the home team after two.
• The fourth is when the Fighting Knights broke the game open. They scored nine runs for a 13-1 lead.
• Lynn put up crooked numbers every inning after that.
• GCU put up single runs in the seventh on an
Angel Gomez home run and the eighth on an RBI ground ball.Â
• Lynn dropped the hammer in the eighth. They scored 12 runs on eight hits and were helped out with four walks and a hit batsman. The Fighting Knights capped the inning with back-to-back-to-back home runs.

Samir Lopez got the start on the mound and allowed eight runs, six earned on six hits in 3.1 innings of work.
• Akhil surrendered four runs in two innings.

For the Fighting Knights
• All 15 that took at least one turn at bat collected at least one hit.
• Bruce Thornton went 6-7 with two home runs and six runs scored.
• Cole Beck drove in five runs on four hits.
• Lynn used a bullpen day throwing seven arms. Yandiel Reyes got the win pitching two innings allowing just a hit while striking out three.Â
