Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Georgian Court Falls to Post, Still Makes Playoffs on Season's Final Day

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 28, 2026) - Georgian Court Basketball knew the situation going into their regular season finale against Post. A win guaranteed them a spot in the playoffs. The win didn't happen as they lost by two to Post, 74-72, but the playoffs still will. Because of other results around the league, the Lions hang onto their playoff spot and make their third CACC Tournament in program history.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court finished the game shooting 42% overall, but struggled from three hitting just 3-22.
• Post wasn't much better from distance knocking in 5-15. They were 4-6 though in the second half. Overall, the Eagles shot right at 40%.
• Each team made 17 free throws, with the Lions hitting 85% at the line.
• Post, not a great rebounding team, came down with 43 to the Lions 37. They also pulled down 14 offensive rebounds and scored 19 second chance points.
• GCU did a great job holding onto the ball, turning it over just seven times. Post lost it 10 times and it was the Eagles who led in points off turnovers, 12-11.

1st Half
• Georgian Court got out to a fast start scoring the first six points in the game.
• Following a three-pointer from Jacob Santiago, the Lions had their largest lead of the game, 22-6 midway through the half.
• Post slowly began to chip away at that lead. They scored 10 straight and with under five to play, it was a six-point game, 22-16.
• A three from Post's Harry Scully, their only three of the half, tied the game at 27 with 2:05 remaining in the first.
• Georgian Court reclaimed the lead with Cam Edmonds scoring six points in 1:06.
• Still up by six in the closing seconds, GCU committed a shooting foul on a three-point attempt. Derrick Thomas II hit both to cut the lead in half.
• On the inbounds with two seconds left, the Lions Hail Mary pass was caught by a wide open Edmonds. The game was halted by the officials though, claiming the inbounds pass was deflected and the clock should have been running. That led to a Lions technical foul where Thomas II hit two more free throws making it a one-point game, 33-32.
• GCU still had a second left with the ball in the front court. Edmonds was fouled and sent to the line where he made two and GCU was up 35-32 at the break.

2nd Half
• Post took their first lead of the game on a layup from Tre Duncan three minutes into the half.
• It didn't last though as Amar Lane rocked the rim with a monster dunk.
• The teams traded the lead back and forth a few times until the Lions were able to go back out in front by six, 48-42, following a Donald-James Imo steal and a layup.
• Post's three balls were finally falling, allowing them to get back into the game.
• They took a 52-51 lead on another three with 8:11 left to play in the game.
• Georgian Court fought back and the lead changed hands a couple of times. Taheen Braswell-Brown buried a corner three putting the Lions on top 64-63 with 3:20 left.
• An and-one layup and free throw from Thomas gave Post the lead right back on the next possession and they held on the rest of the game.
• Post went just 3-5 at the line in the closing seconds, but the Lions couldn't make enough baskets to catch up and fell by two, 74-72.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Cam Edmonds scored 25 points with nine rebounds. He was 11-13 at the foul line.
• Jaycen Santucci finished with 13 and nine boards as well.
• Amar Lane, Jacob Santiago and Taheen-Braswell Brown all scored seven points.

For the Eagles
• Derrick Thomas II hung 30, helped out by an 11-11 day at the line.
• No other Eagle was in double-figures. Deng Akok scored eight with seven rebounds.
• Harry Scully and Gianni Thompson each scored seven off the bench.
