LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 28th, 2026) - The Georgian Court Lions headed to Pennsylvania to face #12 East Stroudsburg, and they fell in a 22-6 loss.
How it Happened
• ESU out shot GCU 38-22.
• GCU turned the ball over 13 times compared to the Warriors four.
• Ground balls were in favor of the Warriors 18-8.
• Saves were even at six apiece.
1st Quarter
•
Sadie Kauffman got the warriors on the board about a minute into the game and had another goal 15 seconds later.
•
Michaela Scirrotto answered for the Lions forty seconds later with the first Lion goal of the game.
•
Sadie Kauffman had her third goal of the game with about nine minutes remaining of quarter one.
•
Gabrielle Battle for GCU had her first goal of the season, putting the score at 3-2.
• ESU then went on a four-goal run, from four different Warriors.
•
Gabrielle Battle took advantage of the Lions' man-up situation and scored her second goal of the game with a minute and a half left.
2nd Quarter
• Warriors opened up the second quarter with two more goals.
•
Gabrielle Battle had her third goal of the game and cut the lead to 10-4.
•
Nena Menard had a free position opportunity and capitalized for the Lions, which cut the lead in half.
• ESU ended the quarter with five unanswered goals, bringing a ten-goal lead.
3rd Quarter
• The second half started with two goals from the Warriors.
•
Caitlin Petrellese got on the board for the Lions.
•
Hannah Schiemer would have one more goal for the Warriors; the Lions trailed 18-6 going into the final ten.
4th Quarter
• The Lions would remain scoreless for the rest of the game.
• ESU would put four more goals on the board and would win 22-6.
