Lions Erase 10-Point Second Half Deficit In Home Win

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 7, 2026) - With 11 minutes left to play, things weren't looking great for Georgian Court Basketball. They trailed by 10 points, but beared down and outscored Bridgeport by 15 points over the final 10:25 to snatch victory from the Purple Knights, 82-77.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court enjoyed a good afternoon shooting the basketball, especially from three. They shot 43.3% overall and 37.5% from three, making 9-24.
• The Lions also took advantage of points at the free throw line. They were 21-27 while Bridgeport struggled hitting 23-33.
• The Purple Knights showed why they're the number one rebounding team in Division II. They came down with 49, including 18 offense rebounds and scored 21 second-chance points.
• GCU benefited from 21 Bridgeport turnovers. They turned those into 23 points. The Lions lost the ball just 10 times.

1st Half
• After a Bridgeport jumper started the game, Georgian Court scored eight straight getting a three from Donavin Crawford and a three-point play from Tesneem Ajeigbe.
• The Purple Knights weathered that storm though and reclaimed a 12-10 lead thanks to 10-2 run of their own.
• For 11 minutes, neither team led by more than three points.
• That streak finally broke as Cam Edmonds made a pair at the line to give the Lions a 29-25 lead with 5:08 left in the half.
• Ajeigbe with back-to-back buckets gave the Lions a five-point lead, finishing that with a dunk from Edmonds' feed.
• Over the final 2:44, the only points scored came at the foul line. Each team made three and the Lions led by three, 36-33 at intermission.

2nd Half
• The half started with a three from Cam Edmonds, but Bridgeport took over from there.
• They were helped out as Isaiah Sullivan was fouled on two three-point attempts. He made all six of those free throws and the Purple Knights were back on top, 41-39.
• That started a 24-8 Bridgeport run that saw them go from down six, to up 10, 57-47 with 10:45 left to play.
• GCU was 3-12 during that 8:30 span while the Purple Knights made 8-14 and 8-10 at the line.
• The Lions didn't quit though. Trailing by nine, Cam Edmonds converted an and-one. Before the Purple Knights could even get up court, Kam Waters picked off a pass and converted a three-point-play of his own and suddenly with was three-point game, 60-57 as GCU scored six points in just eight seconds.
• Still down three, it was Waters again, this time splashing a three-pointer to tie the game at 64 with 5:32 remaining.
• After another Waters steal, Edmonds finished to give GCU the lead back with a layup and a foul, 67-64.
• UB hit a three-pointer of their own which gave them a brief one-point lead, 70-69. But on the Lions next possession, Donald-James Imo made a layup and the Lions led the rest of the way.
• Crawford made it a four-point game, 74-70, with a three with less than two minutes remaining.
• In the final 90 seconds, GCU closed the game out at the line, making 5-6, as they completed the comeback, 82-77.
