BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 19, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball finished up their 2026 season series with Bridgeport. The Lions were on the road for a doubleheader against the Purple Knights. UB put up eight runs in both games and swept Georgian Court by scores of 8-1 and 8-3.

Game 1 - Bridgeport 8, Georgian Court 1
How it Happened
• Bridgeport scored eight runs on 14 hits.
• The Lions connected for 10 hits, but only scored once.
• Both teams left a ton of runners on base. Georgian Court stranded 12 and the Purple Knights 11.
• Georgian Court made three errors in the field, which led to two unearned runs.
• The Lions walked just three while striking out three. Bridgeport pitchers struck out nine and walked five.
• All 10 of Georgian Court's hits were singles. Bridgeport had three extra-base hits, all doubles.
• Bridgeport put up a three-spot in the first to start the game. Two of the runs came without the benefit of a hit.
• They kept tacking on, scoring runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings and led 7-1.
• Georgian Court scored in the fifth as Tyler Dunmeyer singled to bring in Matt DiOttavio. 
• Neither team scored over the final four innings even though GCU had runners on in all four of those frames.

• Frankie Noviello singled twice and stole a base.
• Evangelos Spyrogiannis had a pair of hits as well.
• Tyler Dunmeyer singled and drove in a run.
• Matt DiOttavio singled and scored.
• Lorenzo Lamattina threw four innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out three.
• Jackson Cooper threw a perfect inning in relief.

For the Purple Knights
• Alex Abi-Zeid got the start and allowed one run on six hits in six inning with five strikeouts.
• Joaquin Brasher struck out four in three scoreless innings.
• Patrick Krempasky finished 3-4 with two runs scored.
• Anthony Armenia reached base three times and drove in two.
• Anthony Matturro singled, doubled and drove in a pair.

Game 2 - Bridgeport 8, Georgian Court 3 - 7 Innings
How it Happened
• The hits were harder to come by in game two. Bridgeport scored eight runs on eight hits while the Lions scored three on six hits.
• Georgian Court picked up three extra-base hits, all doubles.
• Bridgeport pitchers struck out 10 while the Lions fanned four.
• Each team made two errors. The Lions allowed two unearned runs while Bridgeport escaped those jams.
• The Purple Knights again scored first with an RBI single in the second.
• GCU answered right away as Frankie Noviello's two-out single drove in Oliver Santana who walked and scored.
• Bridgeport put up crooked numbers in the third, fourth and fifth innings. 
• Trailing 5-1, Santana's double scored Jack Greenspan to make it a 5-2 game in the fifth.
• A two-RBI single in the fifth got Bridgeport that run back and then some.
• Both teams scored a lone run in the sixth. Matt DiOttavio plated JR Osmond with the Lions third run.
• GCU put two on in the seventh, but couldn't get a run across and Bridgeport swept the doubleheader.

• Frankie Noviello again singled twice and drove in a run.
• Oliver Santana reached base twice, scored and drove in a run while stealing two bases.
• Matt DiOttavio had a pinch-hit RBI double.
• Evan Corso got the start and allowed seven runs, five earned in 4.1 innings with three strikeouts.
• Spencer Kemler retired both batters he faced.

For the Purple Knights
• Logan McGrath got the win allowing two runs on three hits in five innings while striking out five.
• Noah Williams was 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored.
• Michael Incontro drove in three runs finishing 2-2 with a walk and run scored.
• Patrick Krempasky was 2-4 with two runs scored.

News and Notes
• Georgian Court went 0-3 against Bridgeport in the series this week.
• Frankie Noviello had two hits in both games.
• In two games, Georgian Court was able to get runners on, but left 20 on base.
• In seven of 16 innings, Georgian Court got the leadoff batter on.
• Bridgeport entered as the No. 1 team in the CACC in stolen bases. The Lions swiped five in the doubleheader and the Purple Knights four.
