BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 19, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball finished up their 2026 season series with Bridgeport. The Lions were on the road for a doubleheader against the Purple Knights. UB put up eight runs in both games and swept Georgian Court by scores of 8-1 and 8-3.
Game 1 - Bridgeport 8, Georgian Court 1
How it Happened
• Bridgeport scored eight runs on 14 hits.
• The Lions connected for 10 hits, but only scored once.
• Both teams left a ton of runners on base. Georgian Court stranded 12 and the Purple Knights 11.
• Georgian Court made three errors in the field, which led to two unearned runs.
• The Lions walked just three while striking out three. Bridgeport pitchers struck out nine and walked five.
• All 10 of Georgian Court's hits were singles. Bridgeport had three extra-base hits, all doubles.
• Bridgeport put up a three-spot in the first to start the game. Two of the runs came without the benefit of a hit.
• They kept tacking on, scoring runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings and led 7-1.

How it Happened
• The hits were harder to come by in game two. Bridgeport scored eight runs on eight hits while the Lions scored three on six hits.
• Georgian Court picked up three extra-base hits, all doubles.
• Bridgeport pitchers struck out 10 while the Lions fanned four.
• Each team made two errors. The Lions allowed two unearned runs while Bridgeport escaped those jams.
• The Purple Knights again scored first with an RBI single in the second.
• GCU answered right away as
Frankie Noviello's two-out single drove in
Oliver Santana who walked and scored.
• Bridgeport put up crooked numbers in the third, fourth and fifth innings.Â
• Trailing 5-1, Santana's double scored
Jack Greenspan to make it a 5-2 game in the fifth.
• A two-RBI single in the fifth got Bridgeport that run back and then some.
• Both teams scored a lone run in the sixth.

• GCU put two on in the seventh, but couldn't get a run across and Bridgeport swept the doubleheader.Â
