LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 24th, 2026) -
Michaela Scirrotto's goal in overtime lifted the Lions over Bridgeport in the first conference game of 2026. The Lions trailed for the majority of the game and took their first lead in the final quarter.
How it Happened
• Shots were close with Bridgeport leading 28-25.
• Bridgeport led in turnovers with 15, and the Lions closed behind with 13.
• The Lions had 14 groundballs, and Bridgeport had 11.
• Draw controls were in favor of Bridgeport; they grabbed 14 compared to the Lions 9.
1st Quarter
• In the first 10 minutes, Bridgeport had the momentum. Tara Dimaio had three goals in the first six minutes and pushed Bridgeport to an early 3-0 start.

Nena Menard kicked things off for the Lions in a man-up situation; she got the Lions first goal of the game.
• Purple Knights would end the quarter leading 4-1 after Tara Dimaio had her fourth goal of the game.
2nd Quarter
• It was the Lions who struck first this time,

• Bridgeport answered back, and Dani Strong put the Purple Knights ahead going into the half.
3rd Quarter
• Five minutes into the second half,
Gabrielle Battle had her first goal of the game on a free position opportunity.
• Bridgeport then went up by two after a 2-0 run.
• Lions turned to
Nena Menard again, who converted on a free position opportunity.
• GCU trailed 7-6 going into the final 15 minutes.
4th Quarter
• Thirty seconds into the quarter,

Gabrielle Battle to tie the game.

Caitilin Petrellese's first goal of the game was also the Lions first lead of the game.
• Just a minute later, the Purple Knights tied the game off of a free position shot.
• Bridgeport's Emily Stuart put Bridgeport back ahead with three minutes remaining.

Nena Menard tied the game with one minute remaining and forced overtime.
Overtime
• Overtime opened with four minutes of back-and-forth play, as neither team managed a shot.
• The first shot on goal in overtime came from a free-position opportunity, where
Michaela Scirrotto scored to give the Lions the win over Bridgeport.
