CALDWELL, NJ (March 25, 2026) - Wednesday was a good day for fans of offense. In two games at Caldwell, Georgian Court and the Cougars combined for 50 runs. Despite all the offensive fireworks, Georgian Court wasn't able to come out on top in either game as the Cougars won both ends of the twin bill.
Game 1 - Caldwell 11, Georgian Court 9
How it Happened
• Georgian Court totaled 11 hits and scored nine times.
• Caldwell needed just nine hits for 11 runs. They were helped out by a pair of home runs.
• The game featured 12 walks and six hit-batsman. That's in addition to six total errors and five unearned runs.
• Team's were running all over the place as well with GCU swiping three bags and Caldwell stealing five.
• Georgian Court scored the game's first run without the benefit of a hit. In the opening inning, the Lions took advantage of two errors and two hit batters to score a run. They did leave the bases loaded though and settled for just one run.
• That 1-0 lead held up until the bottom of the third. Caldwell collected three straight hits, the third of those a home run to left center for a 3-1 lead.
• GCU got one back in the fourth, but again missed out on a bigger inning.
Jack Osmond and
Evangelos Spyrogiannis led off with back-to-back doubles. With runners on the corners, the Cougars ended the inning with a double play.
• Caldwell went back up by two, 4-2, thanks to a throwing error in the home half of the fourth.
• Georgian Court finally got the big inning that had been avoiding them in the fifth.
Zinny Kemahu and
Jack Osmond connected for back-to-back RBI singles.
• With two out and two on,
Jack Greenspan delivered a triple to plate both runners. The inning continued with
Arian Lunar driving in Greenspan for a 7-4 lead.
• The Lions tacked on single runs in the sixth and seventh inning.
Frankie Noviello led off the seventh with a walk and came in to score an unearned run on a ground ball.
• In the seventh it was Lunar again driving in a run to make it a 9-4 GCU lead.
• The Cougars got back into the game in the eighth, scoring four runs, all with two outs. The first two came on a two-run home run that made it 9-6.
• Caldwell put two more on base after the long ball and a fly ball to center that should have ended the inning, was dropped and both runners scored making it a one-run game, 9-8.
• Things went from bad to worse in the eighth as the Cougars completed the comeback scoring three more runs. An RBI single tied the game and a bases-loaded walk brought in the winning run. Caldwell got insurance with a sacrifice fly.
• Georgian Court went down in order in the ninth and Cougars stole an 11-9 win.

Jack Osmond was 3-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Arian Lunar picked up three hits in five at bats and drove in two.

Jack Greenspan tripled and drove in a pair.

Michael Zitola, Jr. got the start and allowed four runs, three earned in 5.1 innings with six strikeouts.
For the Cougars
• Stephen Young, Jr. homered and drove in three runs.
• Justin Levine had two hits and two RBI.
• The Caldwell bullpen allowed two runs, one earned in 3.1 innings pitched.
Game 2 - Caldwell 18, Georgian Court 12
How it Happened
• After 20 runs in nine innings in game one, the two teams outdid themselves in game two.
• In the seven-inning affair, the teams combined for 30 runs. Those 30 runs came on just 17 hits.
• There were 20 walks in the game and eight hit-batsman.Both teams threw more than 150 pitches.
• Caldwell took a 16-0 lead and the game still was somewhat in question as the Lions scored 12 runs in two innings.
• The Cougars scored one in the first, two in the second and three in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
• Of those six runs, just two came on a hit as Caldwell took advantage of the GCU defense scoring two on an error, one on a bases loaded walk and another on a wild pitch.
• Caldwell broke the game open in the fourth putting up 10 runs on five hits. Chris Hopf hit a three-run home run three batters in to make it 9-0.
• The Cougars dinked, dunked, and walked their way to seven more runs in the inning.
• Georgian Court didn't get their first hit of the game until they trailed 16-0.
• To their credit though, they didn't give up at bats.
Matt DiOttavio singled to drive in a run for GCU who added three more in the fifth on a ground out and two on a fielding error.
• GCU actually made things interesting. They scored eight runs in the sixth inning.
Matteo Perciballi and
Brian Guzman had RBI hits and
Jack Greenspan tripled to make it 16-12.
• With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Caldwell tacked on two more runs which took the sails out of the Lions comeback bid.
• GCU put a runner on to leadoff the seventh, but Caldwell retired the next three for the 18-12 win.

• Shawn Fraumeni pitched 4+ innings allowing four runs, two earned on two hits with five strikeouts.
• Chris Hopf was 2-4 with a home run and four RBI.
• Izaiah Robinson drove in three runs and scored twice.

• The Lions 12 runs are the most they've scored in a game this season.
