PLEASANTVILLE, NY (March 4, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse faced another ranked opponent to begin their season. They were on the road at No. 14 Pace where the Setters led wire to wire in a 21-6 victory.
How it Happened
• Pace was on offense for most of the game. That was thanks in part to a 19-12 advantage in faceoffs.
• The Setters also forced GCU into 21 turnovers while Pace lost the ball 14 times. The Lions were 19-24 on clear attempts. Pace converted 27-28.
• With the ball, Pace rattled off 50 total shots, 37 on net and 21 finding the back of the cage. Georgian Court took 25 shots, 13 on target with six goals.
• Pace took three penalties and killed them all. Georgian Court allowed two man-up goals in four opportunities.
1st Quarter
• Goals were coming fast and furious at the start, especially from the Setters. Matt Baldino scored three times in the first three minutes to give Pace a 3-0 lead.
• Now trailing 4-0, the Lions struck back with goals from
Malik Alzubi and
Vincent Burns. Alzubi scored the Lions first goal picking up a ground ball from a faceoff and cashed in charging the net.
• After GCU cut the lead in half, Pace scored three straight for a five-goal lead.
• Konnor Forlai added a goal for the Lions but Pace scored again in the final minute for an 8-3 lead after one.
• GCU committed six turnovers in the period.
2nd Quarter
• Georgian Court picked up the first goal of the second quarter as
Harrison Jordan got on the board to make it an 8-4 game.
• Pace though answered by scoring six straight and went up by 10, 14-4.
• A Pace penalty, their first of the game, gave the Lions an extra-man opportunity. While they didn't cash in with the extra attacker,
Drew Barocas scored shortly after the penalty was killed to halt the Setters' 6-0 run.
• With less than 30 seconds left in the half, GCU had another look at the net, but
Tyler Burns was stopped by Pace goalie Jack Kern and the Lions trailed 14-5 at the break.
3rd Quarter
• After all the scoring from the first half, that dissipated in the second half.
• The third quarter saw just two total goals, one from each side.
• More than 11 minutes went by before a goal was scored. That came from Pace with 3:28 to play in the frame.

Brodie Seaborn scored for GCU with less than a minute to play before the fourth quarter.
4th Quarter
• Pace's offense caught fire again after a slow third.
• They scored six goals in the final period to get Pace over 20 for the game.
• Georgian Court couldn't get a ball into the net in the fourth and Pace went on to win 21-6.

Vincent Burkhart made 16 saves for Georgian Court in goal.

Drew Barocas picked up a team-high five ground balls and scored once.

• Matt Baldino scored a game-high five goals.
• Declan Landers finished with three goals, two assists and three ground balls.
• Caiden Myers scored three goals with two assists.
• Alex Garro was an astounding 14-16 on faceoffs with a game-high seven ground balls.
• Brian Brennan caused three turnovers.
• Jack Kern got the win in net making seven saves.

• Six different Lions scored a goal for GCU and noone had more than one point.
• All three GCU opponents this season have either been ranked in the top-20 coaches poll or receiving votes.
• This game was originally scheduled to be a home game for Georgian Court. It was moved to a road contest following the most recent snow storm.
