Rutherford, NJ (March 4, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Basketball headed to Felician for the first round of the CACC playoffs. #7 Lions fell to the #2 Golden Falcons 73-48.
How it Happened
• Felician shot an efficient 51.9% from the floor and GCU 32.7%.
• Lions had 30 turnovers and Felician had 24.
• Felician took advantage of the turnovers, scoring 32 points off them, while the Lions managed 19.
• A slow second quarter allowed Felician to take a strong lead; the Lions scored only four points, and the Golden Falcons had 23.
1st Quarter
• A competitive opening quarter saw both teams going back and forth.

Karissa Smedley had an amazing first quarter, going 4-for-4 from three-point range and scoring 15 points in the opening 10 minutes.
• Golden Falcons led by just three going into the second quarter.
2nd Quarter
• Lions struggled offensively in the second quarter.
• Felician University used an 8–0 run in the first three minutes to quickly extend the lead.

Amyah Bray broke the Lions drought with a layup from
Farrah White.
• Lions wouldn't score again till 23 seconds remained in the half,
Morgan Sconza had a jumper.
• Due to the offensive struggles, the Lions trailed 45-23 going into the break.
3rd Quarter

Niyell McCargo had the first four points to put the Lions back on the board.
• Five of the 11 third-quarter points came in the final minute.
• A layup from
Kayla Mateo, along with a layup and a free throw from
Alexi Hoy, accounted for the late surge.
4th Quarter
• The Lions outscored Felician 14-11 in the fourth, but trailed by too many.
