Lions Finish Up College Baseball Series at ShoreTown Ballpark With Win Over St. Thomas Aquinas

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 15, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball improved to 2-0 this week as the bats stayed hot in a 12-5 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The game was held at ShoreTown Ballpark, home of the Jersey Shore Blue Claws as the Lions have played great baseball in their minor league digs.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court scored 12 runs on 14 hits while STAC picked up just six hits and scored five runs.
• There were plenty of walks in the game, 19 total. The Spartans drew 10 and the Lions nine.
• Georgian Court pitchers struck out 13 batters.
• The teams were seemingly running at will with seven combined stolen bases. GCU swiped four.
• All the hits and walks also left plenty of runners on base. The Spartans left 15 on while GCU stranded 13.
• Georgian Court really took advantage of the Spartan defense that committed two errors. Those mistakes proved costly as GCU scored six unearned runs.
• The Spartans got a run in the second as a two-out RBI single produced an unearned run. It could have been more but Donovan Gevers limited the damage, getting a strikeout with the bases loaded.
• An inning later, another two-out RBI pushed the STAC lead to 2-0.
• It was the Lions turn to get in on the two-out fun in the bottom of the third. Zinny Kemanu drove home Jack Greenspan as the Lions cut the lead in half.
• STAC made it a three-run game in the fourth scoring a run on a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.
• The Lions then erupted for six runs in the bottom of the inning.
Brian Guzman had an RBI single to tie the game and Evangelos Spyrogiannis walked on a 3-2 count as the Lions took their first lead.
Colby McMahon then added on with a two-out, two-run single to left and the Lions led 7-4 after four.
• Georgian Court again took advantage of the Spartans poor defense. Zinny Kemahu lined a two-out, two-RBI single after an error allowed the inning to continue. That pushed the Lions lead to 9-4 through five.
• Both teams scored a run in the seventh. GCU strung three straight base runners together with two outs, the last of which was Zinny Kemahu's fourth RBI of the game.
• Georgian Court capped off their eight trips to the plate with two more runs in the eighth. Back-to-back hits from Frankie Noviello and Frank Marra produced two runs to get the Lions to a dozen runs.
