WATERBURY, Conn. (April 17, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball stumbled out of the gates in the series opener with Post. The Eagles scored 12 times in the first two innings, 10 runs in the second alone on their way to a 13-7 win.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court actually outhit Post, 15-14. The scored seven runs on those 14 hits.
• Post needed just 14 hits to score 13 times.
• The Eagles took advantage of five GCU errors. GCU also put 11 runners on base via walk or hit-by-pitch.
• Post struck first scoring two in the first on a two-out RBI single.
• The second inning was a marathon. The Eagles sent 16 batters to the plate in the inning and scored 10 times on just six hits.
• Georgian Court walked two and hit four batters in the inning. The big hit game from Kevin Diaz, who's bases clearing double scored three runs.
• Credit to GCU though. They scored seven straight after the Eagles took a 12-7 lead.

Frank Marra's RBI single scored
Arian Lunar for the Lions first run in the third.
• The Lions added three more in the fourth. Lunar and
Matt DiOttavio had RBI hits.
• In the seventh,
Brian Guzman and
Zinny Kemahu had RBI hits as the Lions scored three more to make it a 12-7 game.
• That was as close as the Lions got though. Post added on a run in the eighth and took game one, 13-7.
