Post's Power Pushes Eagles Past Lions

JACKSON, NJ (April 18, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball went head-to-head with Post for a doubleheader. They played a pair of exciting game that came down to the wire, but in the end, Post was victorious in both ends of the doubleheader sweep.

Game 1 - Post 8, Georgian Court 3
How it Happened

• Post scored their eight runs on 10 hits. They hit three for extra-bases, two doubles and a home run.
• The Lions connected for eight hits, six singles to score three times.
• Georgian Court hitters struck out 10 times and walked four times. The Eagles fanned just four times while drawing five walks.
• The Lions got an unearned run in the first. With a man in motion, Frank Marra went the other way for a base hit. Frankie Noviello raced to third and scored when on an errant throw in from the outfield.
• Post got their first hit in the third inning. Brady Parks erased that though, getting a double play ball beautifully started by Frank Marra who glove flipped to Arian Lunar at second base to start the 463 GDP.
• The Eagles tied the game up in the top of the fifth. A one-out double, put runners on second and third. Kevan Diaz's long drive to left was run down by Jack Greenspan, but a runner crossed the plate on the sacrifice fly.
• Georgian Court took the lead right back. Arian Lunar led off the bottom of the inning with a long double. He was still on second though with two outs.
• That's until Jack Greenspan's sharp single brought in Lunar.
• Brian Guzman kept the inning alive with a bloop double and Greenspan came in to score on a wild pitch for a 3-1 lead through five.
• Three straight hits for the Eagles made it a one-run game again, 3-2 in the sixth.
• Post started the inning putting the first two on second and third. The GCU bullpen did a good job of limiting the damage but a sacrifice fly tied the game at three.
• The game remained tied until the ninth. Tyler Charzewski walked three straight and a run came in on the third. That wasn't all though as two batters later the Eagles blew it open with a two-out grand slam.
• Georgian Court put two on in the bottom of the inning, but a ground ball ended the game. 

Lion Stat Leaders
• Brady Parks pitched the first six innings allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
• Ryan Basham threw 1.2 hitless inning in relief with two strikeouts.
• Frank Marra had a three-hit game with three singles.
• Jack Greenspan had the only RBI and scored a run.
• Arian Lunar was on base twice with a hit and a walk and scored a run.

For the Eagles
• Hector Cuevas struck out nine in six innings allowing three runs, two earned on five hits.
• Andrew Hartman had the big blast, a grand slam to cap a 2-4 day with five RBI.
• Hunter Keller finished 2-4 with a run scored.
• Kevan Diaz went 2-3 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base. 

Game 2 - Post 12, Georgian Court 8 - 7 Innings
How it Happened

• The Eagles scored 12 runs on just 10 hits.
• The Lions picked up nine hits to score eight runs. 
• Post did damage with extra base hits. They hit six of them to the Lions two.
• There were five total errors made in the game, three by GCU to lead to an unearned run. Post made two and GCU scored three unearned runs.
• The Lions walked nine batters in the game and hit two more.
• Post did damage with two outs in the top of the first.
• Back-to-back two-RBI hits produced four runs as the Eagles took an early 4-0 lead.
• Georgian Court returned the favor scoring a two-out run in the second. Matt DiOttavio drove in JR Osmond for the Lions first run of the game. 
• The Lions got to within one an inning later. Brian Guzman drove in a run with a single, and a fielding error allowed Jack Greenspan to score an unearned run and make it a 4-3 game.
• A solo home run in the top of the fourth pushed the Eagles lead back to two, 5-3.
• Post added another in the fifth. It was another unearned run that scored as Post pushed the lead to 6-3.
• The Eagles used the long ball again to open up the game in the sixth. And it was Andrew Hartman again. This time hitting a three-run blast for a 9-3 lead.
• GCU answered with a five-run inning of their own. They took advantage of three walks and a failed pickoff attempt that allowed a run to score.
• Arian Lunar, Frank Marra and Brian Guzman all had run-scoring hits in the inning as they made it a one-run game, 9-8.
• Post added some insurance in the seventh to the tune of three runs. A two-run single from Hartman made it 12-8 Eagles. 
• The Lions got the tying run into the on-deck circle, but a groundout ended the game.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Frank Marra was on base three times with two hits, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored.
• Brian Guzman drove in two runs with two singles.
• Matt DiOttavio had a hit and an RBI. 
• Arian Lunar had a hit, RBI and run scored. 

For the Eagles
• Evan Cornwell doubled as part of a 2-4 day with two RBI and two runs.
• Gill Dolan homered and scored twice.
• Jacob Schrage got the win allowing three runs, two earned in four innings. 
• Hunter Keller drove in two runs with a double.
• Andrew Hartman had a home run, going 3-5 with five runs batted in. 

News and Notes
• Prior to the game, Georgian Court honored their 14-member senior class of 2026 with a special on-field ceremony. 
• Frank Marra's triple was the first of his GCU career. He finished the doubleheader 5-8. 
• Post's Andrew Hartman was a big thorn in the Lions side, homering twice and driving in 10 runs in the doubleheader. 
• With the two wins, Post improves to 7-0 all-time against GCU.

• Georgian Court plays two at Jefferson this coming Wednesday, April 22 starting at 12 pm.
