No. 4 Lions March into Semifinals with 17-6 win over No. 5 Bridgeport In Opening Road

Lakewood, NJ (April 28, 2026) - No. 4 Georgian Court cruised past No. 5 Bridgeport, 17-6, in the Opening Round of the CACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

How it Happened
• GCU had 39 shots compared to Bridgeport's 24. 
• Bridgeport committed 17 turnovers to GCU's 13 
• Groundballs favored the Lions, 15-11. 
• The Lions were in complete control of the draw, winning 18 of 25 
1st Quarter
• The Lions opened up the first quarter strong. 
• Not even one minute into the game, Jill Konshak had the first goal to immediately give the Lions an early lead. 
Michalea Scirrotto gave the Lions their second goal at the 7:05 mark. 
• Scirrotto then found Gabrielle Battle to put the Lions up three. 
2nd Quarter
• GCU scoring continued this time, Emily Smith opened up the quarter with a goal. 
• In a man-up situation, Nena Menard was able to capitalize for GCU's fifth. 
• Dani Strong got the Purple Knights on the board at 8:03. 
• Two more Lions goals were scored in a man-up situation.
• Bridgeport got its second goal of the day at the 3:26 mark. 
Caitlin Petrellese kept the Lions lead to six with her first goal of the day. 
• With 26 seconds left in the half, Dani Strong gave Bridgeport their third goal. 
3rd Quarter
• Scoring continued for both teams in the third. 
Erynn Richey had a goal for the Lions to start the quarter. 
• Dani Strong from Bridgeport had another goal. 
• The Lions then had a three-goal unanswered run
• Two more Bridgeport goals, including their final goal of the game, came in the third quarter. 
• GCU continued to push their lead with two more goals from Nena Menard and one goal from Caitlin Petrellese
4th Quarter
• Lions put two more goals up on the scoreboard in the fourth. 
Erynn Richey found the net for her third of the day. 
Emily Smith also found the net for her third. 
Lion Stat Leaders
Nena Menard had four goals and seven draw controls. 
Erynn Richey and Emily Smith each had a hat-trick. 
• Gabrielle Battle had six points with four assists and two goals. 
• Natalie Moradian made 11 saves in the net. 

For the Purple Knights
• Dani Strong had three goals. 
• Elizabeth Pitts had two goals.

Emily Smith had a career-high three goals. 
• Caitlin Petrellese started her 75th career game. 
Gabrielle Battle scored her 60th career goal.
