Lions Baseball Finishes 2026 Against Jefferson

JACKSON, NJ (April 28, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball finished up the 2026 season Tuesday afternoon. They completed their three-game series with Jefferson. After four scoreless innings, Jefferson scored in three of the final five and took the finale, 9-3. 

How it Happened
• Jefferson picked up 13 hits, five going for extra-bases. 
• Georgian Court had nine hits, including a double and a home run.
• The Lions defense didn't make an error in the game. Jefferson made one, on their very first chance in the game, which did not lead to an unearned run. 
• Some great defense was played in the first four innings to keep the game scoreless.
• Matt DiOttavio kept runners off the bases with a pair of excellent plays at the hot corner.
• Jefferson broke through in the fifth inning. Three straight run-scoring hits with two outs put the Rams up 3-0.
• The Lions responded two batters into the bottom of the inning. Matt DiOttavio led off with an infield single and Evangelos Spyrogiannis followed with a two-run shot to left to get the Lions within one. 
• The Rams opened things up in the seventh. They scored four runs in the inning on four hits and batted around to push the lead to 7-2.
• GCU got one back as Arian Lunar brought in a run with a sacrifice fly. 
• Jefferson added two more in the ninth, scoring on a wild pitch and a solo home run for the 9-3 final. 

Lion Stat Leaders
• Evangelos Spyrogiannis homered and drove in two runs. 
• Matt DiOttavio had a 3-3 afternoon with two runs scored.
• Brady Parks threw 1.2 innings allowing two hits and one run.
• Cooper DeLaBarre started and gave up three runs on five hits in 4.2 innings with three strikeouts. 

For the Rams
• Jake Baumann threw a complete game allowing three runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts. 
• Justin Egner had a 4-5 day with two runs and two RBI.
• Aleksei Goldhill finished 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
• Luis Beato Mora singled twice and scored two runs.
• Ryan Mallen homered and scored two runs.

News and Notes
• Prior to the game, the Jackson Township mayor Jennifer Kuhn delivered a Proclamation of Appreciation to Georgian Court Baseball. 
• Frankie Noviello set a freshman single-season high for hits.
• Evangelos Spyrogiannis clubbed his seventh home run, tied for the most by any Lion in a single season.
