LAKEWOOD, NJ (Sept. 2, 2026) - Through the first two games of the season, Georgian Court men's soccer is without a true result. The Lions drew even on opening weekend with No. 19 Bentley and Saint Michael's. This week they play twice, once home and once on the road looking for their first win of 2026.

Previously vs. Staten Island
• This marks the third straight season these two teams have met.
• The Lions are yet to pick up a win over the Dolphins, dropping each of the first two games.
• Last year in NY, GCU took a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute.
• CSI tied things in the 73rd minute and hit the game-winner with just 19 seconds left to play.

Previously vs. Pitt-Johnstown
• Georgian Court and Pitt-Johnstown have met just once before, in the Lions inaugural season of 2013.
• That was a 2-0 GCU win in Georgian Court's second-ever game as a program. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court started the season with a pair of draws last weekend playing at No. 19 Bentley and Saint Michael's.
• GCU got down against both teams before coming back to get even.
• After Bentley scored early in the second half for a 1-0 lead, Noah-Maxim Kleiser tied the game just 67 seconds later.
• Simon Mortensen made six saves, including a few key ones in the closing minutes to keep the game tied.
• Against Saint Michael's, GCU was down 2-0 in the second half before rallying to tie.
• Tim Wilk scored from a set piece for his first career goal to cut the Purple Knights lead in half.
• Shortly after, Sander Rynning hit the equalizer for his first career goal and finished with a three-point day.

• Through two games the Lions are committing the second-fewest fouls per game in the NCAA at just five per game.
• The Lions are leading the league in shots per game and shots on goal per game.
• They're fourth in the conference averaging three corner kicks per contest.
• Individually, Gijs van Eif is getting off the second-most shots per game in the NCAA with six.

Individual Milestones
• One more win will be Head Coach Dino Raso's 100th at Georgian Court, which mean's it will be the program's 100th win as well. 
• Gijs van Eif is three goals away from 30. Just two other Lions have ever scored 30 career goals.
• Leo Elder's next game played will be the 20th of his career. Sander Rynning needs two more games played to reach 20.
• Felix Kramper will get to 1500 minutes played with 76 more.

About The Opponents
College of Staten Island Dolphins
• Staten Island opened the season with a 3-2 loss playing at home against Saint Anselm. 
• The Dolphins led 2-1, but gave up two goals in the final 20 minutes to the Hawks. 
• Last season, CSI finished with just two wins, one of which was against GCU. They ended the year 2-7-5.
• CSI has a new coach in 2026 as Michael Meagher takes over, after having been an assistant coach since 2023.
• All-ECC Third Team performer Peterson Larose returns this season and had an assist in the season opener.
• Luca Schelling got the start in goal and made seven saves. 

Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats
• As of publication, Pitt-Johnstown is yet to play a game in 2026. However come game day, the Mountain Cats will be fresh off their season opener, being played Thursday afternoon.
• Last year, Pitt-Johnstown finished 7-8-1 and were 2-7-1 in the PSAC West.
• Ahead of the season, the Mountain Cats were picked to finish sixth in the Division.
• Sebastian Roman Rivera split time in goal last season, making six starts with a .646 save percentage and 3.04 goals against average.
• In 2025, the Mountain Cats struggled defensively allowing 42 goals in 16 games.
• Ryan Kyei Boahen scored seven goals last year, second-most on the team and is back in 2026. So too is Noah Pawling who started all 16 games and scored four times.
