A Late Goal Gives Lions First Home Loss of 2026


Lakewood, NJ (Sept. 5th, 2026) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer fell 1-0 to the Knights after a late 80th minute goal. 

How it Happened 
• Shots were close from both teams the Knights having 14 with just one on net, and the Lions with 12 and five on net. 
• Corner kicks were even at five a piece. 
• Queens lead with eight fouls compared to Georgian Courts four. 

 First Half 
• Within the first 15 seconds of regulation, Queens applied the pressure and fired a shot that sailed high.
• Most of the half was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams.
• The Lions recorded six shots in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net.

Second Half 
• Twenty minutes into the half, the Lions had a big opportunity off a foul. Seanna Boan's free kick found Erynn Richey, whose shot struck the crossbar and nearly found the back of the net.
• Queens quickly answered back with a goal, but the score was called back due to an offside.
• Two minutes later, Ashley Kieblesz put Queens on the board, giving them a 1-0 advantage.
• The Lions scrambled for the next 10 minutes in search of an equalizer but ultimately ran out of time.

Erynn Richey had four shots for GCU. 
Meghan Moore had three shots.
  
For the Knights
Ashely Kieblesz scored the only goal for Queens. 
• Morgan Khadra had four shots for the Knights. 
Samantha Hines-Hirsch made five saves. 

News and Notes 
• After todays game Georgian Court moves to 13-11-1 in home openers in the Divison II era. 
• Today's game was also the 9th straight meeting with Queens that was decided by one goal or less.
