Lakewood, NJ (Sept. 8th, 2026) - In their second home game of the season, Georgian Court Women's Soccer ends up tying Southern Connecticut.
How it Happened
• SCSU held the advantage in shots, recording 18 compared to GCU's seven.
• SCSU also held the advantage in corner kicks, recording six compared to GCU's three.
• Southern Connecticut had more fouls than GCU with 14 compared to GCU's six.
First Half
• Just 30 seconds into regulation,
Chelsea Lavezzo created an early scoring opportunity for the Lions, but was unable to find the back of the net.
• Southern Connecticut's first and only yellow card of the match came in the 25th minute, with Julia Hargaves.
• Southern Connecticut earned five corner kicks in the first half but was unable to capitalize on any of the opportunities.
• Georgian Court also earned two corner kicks in the opening half but was unable to capitalize, sending the match into halftime scoreless.
Second Half

Delaine Wilkinson stepped up for the Lions in the second half, recording five of her six saves in the final 45 minutes.
• In the 65th minute,
Erynn Richey had an opportunity off a free kick but was unable to find the back of the net.
• Both teams battled through the final whistle, but neither side was able to break the scoreless tie.
