Arlan Freeman

Head Coach | 2nd Season | 8-38

Arlan Freeman became the first-ever Head Coach of Georgian Court Baseball in 2024. He presided over the team in their inaugural season in 2025 which saw their first win and conference win in program history.

An avid recruiter, Freeman brought in more than 45 student-athletes to Georgian Court for the first baseball season. His connections in high schools and among the college ranks led to 28 transfer students and 19 high school freshmen. He spanned the country for talent with 27 student-athletes coming from GCU's home state of New Jersey and 20 coming from nine other states plus Cuba.

Freeman played a big role in the Lions' Alex Elliott becoming the first Georgian Court Baseball alum to sign a professional contract, doing so following the 2025 season with the Monterey Amberjacks of the Pecos League.

Freeman had coached for 14 years prior to Georgian Court at the collegiate level with multiple stops in Division II and III. Most recently, Freeman launched the baseball program at St. Elizabeth University in Morristown, NJ, as its first-ever head coach. As a head coach at a brand new program, Freeman possesses valuable experience in this distinct situation. He achieved success both on the field, making it to the postseason, and off the field, boasting a team GPA of 3.2 and raising $20,000 through fundraising initiatives.

Freeman launched his coaching career as a pitching coach and graduate assistant at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. He then transitioned to Lynn University as their Assistant Coach, where he coached an NCBWA All-American and had a pitcher selected in the MLB Draft.

Following his stints in Florida, Freeman made his way north to New Jersey and the CACC, assuming the role of Associate Head Coach, Pitching Coach, and head of recruiting at Felician University. He then spent three seasons at Stevens Institute of Technology as the university's Head Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. During his tenure at Stevens, the Ducks qualified for the NCAA Tournament, set program records for wins in a season, and led Division III in strikeouts and strikeouts per nine innings.

Freeman assumed his first head coaching position at SUNY New Paltz. During his two-year tenure at the university, he was named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year and won the team's first postseason game in 17 years.

Freeman has also coached at various summer leagues and professional organizations, including the prestigious Cape Cod League, where he worked as a Pitching Coach and went on to produce four first-round and twelve overall MLB draft picks.
