David Lafferty

David Lafferty enters his fifth season as the Associate Head Coach with Georgian Court University and his 45th season overall.

Lafferty comes to GCU from Rowan University where he coached for 24 seasons. For four of those campaigns, he coached former Profs star, and current Georgian Court head coach, Terrence Stewart. He served as Associate Head Coach under three different head coaches ... Dr. John Gianinni, Joe Cassidy and Joe Crispin.

Coach Lafferty helped lead Rowan to a 446-197 record during his tenure, including: one NCAA Division II National Championship (1996), three Final Four appearances (1993, 1995, 1996), six Elite Eight berths (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000), and seven trips to the Sweet 16 (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000).

In addition, Rowan appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments and two NJAC championship games, including 22 NJAC tournament appearances in his 24 years. The Profs reached #1 in the NCAA Division II national rankings in three different seasons.

A tireless recruiter and veteran bench coach at Rowan, Lafferty recruited five eventual
1,000-point scorers and two All-Americans.

Lafferty began his coaching career in Western Pennsylvania at Marion Center Area High School in 1977. He then served as Head Varsity Basketball Coach at his alma mater, Holy Cross High School in Delran, New Jersey from 1979-1992. On two occasions his teams reached the sectional semifinals with three players scoring 1,000 points during his tenure.

David graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1977 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and a minor in English. In 1985, he graduated with his Master's Degree in School Counseling and Student Personnel Services from Indiana.

A former basketball and baseball student-athlete, Lafferty served as the first head baseball coach at Seneca High School, which opened its doors in 2003. He compiled a record of 100-29 while helping guide the Eagles to a pair of Group III championships. His 2006 squad ranked #1 in New Jersey and #23 nationally in the USA Today rankings. Three of his former players were selected in the MLB draft.

David resides in Southampton, N.J. with his wife, Roxane.
