John Byrd

Assistant Coach | 5th Season  


John Byrd is entering his fifth season as a member of the Georgian Court University Men's Basketball coaching staff in 2023-24.

Coach Byrd is no stranger to the CACC as he arrives after serving as a volunteer assistant at Goldey-Beacom from 2015 - 2017. He also played at Goldey-Beacom from 2003 - 2005. 

“I am excited to add Coach John Byrd to our staff as he will be a great asset to our program," stated head coach Terrence Stewart. "John is a former player and coach at the Division II level, so he has a unique perspective that, I believe, our players will respond to well. Coach Byrd's on-court player development work is exceptional and will help our forwards make huge strides in their growth.”

Coach Byrd also has served as an assistant coach at Chichester High School (PA) from 2006 - 2008  and Strath Haven High School (PA) from 2009 - 2014. Coach Byrd helped lead both programs to multiple district playoff appearances. Byrd coordinated all preseason workouts and focused heavily on team scouting and player development.
 
Byrd earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Goldey-Beacom and his MBA in Athletic Administration & Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
