Robbie Babson

Volunteer Assistant Coach | 1st Season

Robbie Babson enters his first year as a Volunteer Assistant Throws Coach at Georgian Court University, continuing his connection to the Lions after finishing his degree in Business Administration. Robbie established himself as one of the most consistent and accomplished throwers in program history, recording personal bests of 16.67 meters in the indoor shot put, 16.63 meters in the outdoor shot put, 15.55 meters in the weight throw, and 50.86 meters in the hammer.

During his career, Robbie became a two-time ECC Indoor Shot Put Champion and a seven-time CACC Champion with three hammer throw titles and four shot put titles. He made history by becoming the only shot put athlete in CACC history to 4-peat a throwing title at the conference meet, and he also set the CACC championship meet record. Along with these achievements, he earned NCAA Division II provisional qualification, USTFCCCA All-East Region honors, and multiple All-Conference awards. He won an event 28 times, 24 in the shot put and four in the hammer throw.

Babson is in four events in the Georgian Court all-time top-10. At the time of his graduation, he was second in the hammer throw and indoor shot put, third in the outdoor shot put and sixth in the weight throw.

Robbie also excelled academically with a 3.44 GPA, President’s Level honors on the CACC Academic Honor Roll, and recognition as CACC Student-Athlete of the Month in May 2025.

Now transitioning into coaching, he brings fresh DII competitive experience, detailed technical understanding, and an athlete-centered coaching style to Georgian Court’s throws program.
