Lakewood, N.J.-The Georgian Court University men's soccer team, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action, dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Dominican College on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Investors Savings Bank Field.
With the setback, GCU falls to 3-7-2 (3-3-1 CACC) as the Chargers improve to 7-3-1 (5-2-1 CACC) after the triumph.
The lone tally of the contest came in the 62nd minute of action (61:35) when Dominican's
Ghrelle Francis (Jr.-Le Brea, Trinidad & Tobago) controlled a pass from
Mark Grant (Sr.-Tokyo, Japan) and netted his first goal of the year.
Steven Hegner (So.-Pomona, N.Y.) achieved the shutout in the Chargers' net, collecting four saves in the complete game.
Sebastian Miskuska (So.-Augsburg, Germany), playing the second half in the GCU goal, suffered the defeat for the Lions (three saves).
Georgian Court outshot its guest, 11-10, while Domincan held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lions next host Philadelphia University Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in yet another CACC showdown.
