Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University men's soccer squad, led by a
Michael Clarke hat trick, collected its third straight win Wednesday afternoon with a 5-0 dismissal of Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
The win increases GCU's overall record to 9-5-1 (6-3-1 CACC) while the Griffins slip to 4-9 (3-7 CACC).
Clarke led the Lions to a speedy 2-0 advantage in the first half as the sweet-scoring senior put the home team ahead with tallies at 5:23 and 8:19.
Ben Alhadif kicked off the second stanza offensive onslaught when he drilled home a
Daniel Chochlinski flick (49:53), which originated from a
Joe Esposito free kick.
The Lions' all-time goals leader sent in his third of the afternoon (and six of the year) at 62:23 after popping home a
Sean Graham feed.
Will Green added the finishing touches to the gem of a game when he earned his second of the year at 85:20, courtesy of a
Javel Dawkins assist.
Sebastian Mikuska, the reigning CACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, registered his third shutout triumph in as many starts as the senior goalkeeper pocketed three saves in the 90-minute effort.
GCU now faces a true test this Saturday with a visit to first-place Concordia College (10-4, 8-2 CACC). Start time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
