Lakewood, N.J. - The Georgian Court University men's soccer squad ended up on the wrong end of 3-0 blanking Wednesday on Investors Savings Bank Field as Goldey-Beacom College dismissed the Lions in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
The Lightning raised their mark to 10-3-1 (6-2-1 CACC) on the season while the Lions fall to 8-4-2 (5-3-1 CACC) after the setback.
Chahin Aghrim (Jr.-Bonn, Germany) registered the first GBC tally of the afternoon after booting home an
Ethan Maguire (Fr.-Sydney, Australia) cross at 14:44. Maguire followed with a goal of his own at 24:47, assisted by
Nicholas Ladeira (Fr.-Johannesburg, South Africa).
The third-and-final score came in the 64th minute (63:14) as Aghrim and Maguire teamed up on the helper that resulted in a touch-and-blast tally by
Callum Flynn (Jr.-Guildford, England). Â
GCU still managed to out-shoot the Lightning by a 15-11 margin, but GBC countered with a 6-4 advantage with regards to shots-on-goal.
Suhail Bismilla (Jr.-Johannesburg, South Africa) registered the win in the Goldey-Beacom net with four saves over 90:00.
Yianni Kavarakas gathered three saves in the complete-game effort for Georgian Court.
Georgian Court looks to right the ship this Saturday afternoon with a CACCÂ contest at Nyack College. Start time is 2:30 p.m.
