Nyack, N.Y. - The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad poured in four first-half tallies en route to a 5-0 blanking of host-Nyack College Saturday as the Lions continued their mastery of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, improving to 10-0 vs. CACC foes (11-3-2 overall).
GCU attacked early with a trio of goals within the first 18 minutes of action.
Anissia Fucci kicked off the trifecta for the Lions with her team-leading 11th score of the season just 1:57 in, assisted by
Lizzy Kroon. The duo traded places at 16:09 when Fucci provided the helper for Kroon's 10th of the year.
Kaitlin Lister continued her sizzling stretch as the reigning CACCÂ Player of the Week headed home an
Erin Wimmer cross to put the Lions ahead 3-0 at 17:19.
Heather Arbachesky popped in a penalty kick at 26:23 to blow the doors off the first stanza with the period's fourth goal.
Meagan Murdocco drained her third of the season at 51:57 to further seal the triumph for the momentum-building Lions.
Georgian Court booted 16 shots on the day (seven on frame) compared to four total (one on net) for the Warriors.
Carolyn Stanton improved to 3-0 in three starts in goal for the Lions (69:07), combining with
Natalie Axelsson (20:53) for GCU's fifth defensive shutout of the year.
The Lions remain idle until next Saturday when Georgian Court welcomes Post University to campus for a noontime CACCÂ contest. It will be Senior Day for the team as the Lions honor
