Daniel Chochlinski 3:40 into the initial overtime period snapped a scoreless stalemate as Georgian Court escaped with a dramatic 1-0 home victory over Wilmington University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer action.
In their fourth extra-session match of the season, the Lions improve to 7-3-2 (4-2-1 CACC) on the season with the win. The Wildcats fall to 4-5-3 (4-3 CACC) after the hard-luck setback.
The tally marked the third of the year (and second game-winner) for Chochlinski, one of 16 total (6 SOG) shots for GCU on the day. Wilmington let loose 12 shots overall (4 on goal).
Jamie Hickey, making his second career start for Georgian Court, collected three saves over 93:40 to earn the freshman his first collegiate victory and shutout.
Vinny Tasca (Jr.-Audubon, Pa.) registered five saves in defeat for Wilmington.
The Lions now travel to Caldwell University Saturday afternoon for another CACC contest. Start time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
