Top-Seed Georgian Court Advances to CACC Semifinals With 2-0 Blanking of #8 Felician

Lakewood, N.J. - Kaitlin Lister immediately proved her All-Conference worthiness Tuesday afternoon as the newly-minted All-CACC First Team selection netted both of the Lions' goals in Georgian Court University's 2-0 blanking of #8 Felician University in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer quarterfinals.

The top-seeded Lions now advance to Friday's semifinal round vs. #4 Goldey-Beacom College (11:00 a.m.) after the Lightning dismissed #5 Jefferson University, 2-1, in overtime. #2 Wilmington University will take on #3 Holy Family University in the other semifinal match at 1:30 p.m. Both contests (as well as the men's draw) will be hosted by Georgian Court University.

Lister put the Lions on the board with her first tally of the day at the 16:20 mark after slicing and dicing the Felician defense with a nifty breakaway run. The second score of the contest connected at 31:46 when the sophomore collected a laser pass from Rosa Franze in stride from the left side before peppering the bottom right of the net for her eighth goal on the year.

The outcome was never in peril for the home team as the Lions dominated with a 27-8 shot surplus (13-3 shots-on-goal). Natalie Axelsson, an All-CACC Second Team pick, earned the victory in the GCU net with three total saves.

The Golden Falcons conclude the campaign with a 5-11-1 record.

Georgian Court (14-3-2), winners of eight straight, last squared off against Goldey-Beacom (12-4-2) on October 10 when the Lions secured a 4-1 home win vs. the Lightning.
