Lakewood, N.J.- A three-pointer at the 11:31 mark of the first half Tuesday pushed
Juwuan Carter past the 1,000-point plateau for his career as the senior shooter joined former teammate,
Keith Hughes (2013-17), as the only players to reach this historic mark in the five-year history of the Georgian Court University men's basketball program.
Carter's performance proved to be the shining moment for the Lions as GCU dropped a 75-47 decision to visiting LIU Post University in the Wellness Center. With his team-leading 10 points on the night, Wagner now owns a career total of 1,006, leaving him just 94 short of the 1,100 scored by Hughes.  Â
The Pioneers (2-3) never trailed in the contest and built a game-high 28-point surplus with 1:49 remaining in regulation. Three players eclipsed double-digits for LIU Post, highlighted by
Kyle McLeggan's (Sr.-Jersey City, N.J.) 14.
Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor (Fr.-Woodside, N.Y.) added 13 for the victors while
Hunter Powell (Sr.-Tustin, Mich.) contributed 11 of his own.
Georgian Court (0-6) returns to action Saturday afternoon (4:00 p.m.) with a trip to Division I Delaware State University.
