Box Score Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University men's lacrosse squad, taking the field for the first time in nine days, came out on top of a high-scoring affair Thursday afternoon as the Lions held off visiting Notre Dame de Namur University, 19-14, to snap a three-game slide and improve to 4-10 on the year.

Visiting from Belmont, California, the Argonauts drop to 5-8 with the setback.

The two teams alternated the first six tallies of the contest before GCU rattled off six unanswered to take a healthy 9-3 lead with 7:35 to go before intermission. NDNU responded with three in a row to cut the deficit to 9-6 (6:03). Not to be outdone, the Lions proceeded to pour in three straight to regain their six-goal surplus with 1:51 to go until halftime.

Coming out of the break ahead 12-7, the home team snapped the net with four straight goals to layer its lead to 16-7 at the 7:55 mark of the third period. The Argonauts appeared to shake off the jet lag as the visitors rallied to collect six of the contest's next seven points, chipping down the GCU lead to just 18-14 with 6:40 to go in regulation.

Georgian Court's defensive corps stepped up over the remaining minutes, successfully denying NDNU to eventually secure the home-turf triumph for the Lions.

Five Lions enjoyed multi-goal efforts on the win, headlined by Michael Saladino's five tallies. Jake Sherman registered four on the afternoon. Tanner Lee enjoyed a hat trick in the victory while Joe Ramirez whipped in two of his own. Brandon Razler topped all players with nine points, consisting of two goals and charitable seven assists.

GCU goalkeeper, Austin Geissel, tabulated 10 saves over 60:00 to earn the win for the Lions.

Georgian Court returns to action Tuesday afternoon when American International College faces off with the host-Lions at 3:30 p.m.
