Lions Take Down Concordia, 84-72, to Earn Third Win in Last Four Outings

Lakewood, N.J. - The Georgian Court University men's basketball squad has now earned its third victory over its last four outings as the Lions set the Clippers of Concordia College sailing, 84-72, Wednesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action in the GCU Wellness Center.

Georgian Court (3-12, 3-4 CACC) opened the affair on a 15-3 sprint and coasted into the half with a 39-22 cushion. The lead would grow to a game-high margin of 21 points when Omar Williams' layup put the home team ahead, 43-22, with 18:10 to go in regulation.

The Clippers (5-10, 0-7 CACC) provided some second-half drama by cutting the deficit to a single point (49-48) after a 27-5 run that concluded with a Baron Goodridge (Fr.-Bronx, N.Y.) three-pointer at the 11:48 mark. The visitors would outscore the Lions in the second half, 50-45, but never could overtake the home team on this night.

GCU shot a stellar 53.8% from the floor, led by Caleb Bowser's 27 points. The sophomore also netted 27 in last Wednesday's victory at Holy Family as Bowser as now collected 20+ points on four different occasions this season. Nikola Vujovic registered is team-best fourth double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. Juwuan Carter and Williams followed with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Goodridge drained 17 points for Concordia to go along with five assists. Jayson Cethoute (Jr.-Queens, N.Y.) poured in 12 for the Clippers while Elijah Brown (Sr.-Maplewood, N.J.) and Michael Demello (Jr.-White Plains, N.Y.) added 11 points each.

The Lions get back at it this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when they host Caldwell University in CACC action.
