Lakewood, N.J.- Caldwell University spent its Saturday on the campus of Georgian Court as the visiting Cougars controlled the host Lions, 88-72, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
The Cougars (8-9, 5-3 CACC) edged the home team by a 39-34 margin in the first half before expanding that lead to as many as 18 points in the second stanza as Caldwell cruised to the always-important conference victory.
Zay Jennings (So.-Allentown, Pa.) led the way for CU on the offensive end with his game-topping 22 points. The Dutch duo ofÂ
Ruud Lutterman (So.-Dalern, Netherlands) and
Daan Vianen (Nieuwegein, Netherlands) drained 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Ahmad Harrison (Jr.-Newark, N.J.) spread the wealth by distributing seven assists.
Nikola Vujovic tallied 17 points for the Lions in the setback, followed by
Bryce Council with his 16.
Omar Williams drilled 10 points and dished a game-high eight helpers while
Sean Barksdale also deposited 10 points for Georgian Court.
GCU (3-13, 3-5 CACC) now looks forward to Tuesday when the Lions head to Goldey-Beacom College for a 6:00 p.m. CACCÂ match-up. The Lightning escaped the Wellness Center with a 71-70 victory in the teams' previous meeting back on December 19.
