Lakewood, N.J. - After snapping a season-high, three-game slide with a win vs. Chestnut Hill College Saturday, Georgian Court made it two in a row Tuesday night with a 3-0 home victory over visiting Caldwell University to improve to 17-8 on the season (13-3 CACC).
The Lions made quick work of the Cougars with straight-set triumphs of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-18. Caldwell ends the evening with an overall record of 10-16 (9-7 CACC).
For the second consecutive outing, freshman
Grace Fenn paced the home team with 11 kills (.400 hitting percentage), while putting down three blocks.
Shana Rayside contributed eight kills (.429) to go along with a put-backs. Â
Aubrey Binkley clubbed seven kills and floored Caldwell with five service aces.
Trilby Kite dished 11 assists, while contributing eight digs and three aces.
Amy Bruno added to the effort with her trio of blocks while
Peggy Rosario controlled eight digs and added five kills in the win.
GCU now travels to Philadelphia this Saturday for a big-time South Division match vs. Jefferson at noon. The Lions held off the Lady Rams, 3-2, when they last met on September 25 in the Wellness Center.
