Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Second-Half Tally Holds Up as Georgian Court Women Flee Felician With 1-0 Shutout

Lyndhurst, N.J.- A Heather Arbachesky tally in the 67th-minute proved to be plenty for Georgian Court University as the Lions finished off Felician University, 1-0, Saturday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action.

After a scoreless first half, the Lions finally found the back of the net at 66:41 when the senior rattled home her 10th goal of the season, courtesy of a double-helper from Krystal Hund and Anissia Fucci. The effort came off GCU's 17th (of 19) corner kick of the contest.

Things would get mighty tense for the road team from that point forward as the Lions played the final 24:31 of the game down a man after a costly red card (70:29) resulted in the player deficit.

GCU would run out the clock, led by goalkeeper Natalie Axelsson who earned the complete-game victory with three saves on the day. The Lion out-shot the Golden Falcons (2-8, 2-6 CACC) by an 11-4 margin (7-3 SOG) to go with a 19-3 corner kick surplus.

Georgian Court (9-3, 8-0 CACC) will sit idle until next Saturday, October 13, when the Lions host Caldwell University at 12:00 p.m.
