Lakewood, N.J.- Georgian Court University returned to its winning ways Tuesday as the Lions controlled visiting Bloomsburg University, 2-0, in NCAA Division II men's soccer action. 

The shutout marks GCU's eighth of theseason as the club improves to 11-2 on the season. Bloomsburg evens its ledger at 6-6 overall

It took until the 76th minute (75:42) before the first tally lit the scoreboard as Joel Quist headed in his third goal of the year, courtesy of a Landry Cheta cross from the right side. Jonathan Firmino connected on a header of his own when the junior knocked home a Vinicius Monteiro corner kick at 78:47 to the ice the win.

The Lions dominated the contest with a 25-2 shot margin. GCU managed six strikes on frame while the Huskies did not release a single one.

In net, Georgian Court's  Yianni Kavarakas improved to 2-2 on the year in the complete-game effort. Brock Gould (So.-York, Pa.) suffered the Bloomsburg defeat, gathering four saves over 90:00.

GCU resumes CACC competition Saturday afternoon when they host Caldwell University in a crucial conference contest. Start time is set for 2:30 p.m.
