Bloomfield, N.J. - Georgian Court University journeyed north to Bloomfield College Saturday to take on the first-place Bears in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball action. BC breezed to an 84-65 victory, improving its already impressive record to 21-5 on the season (16-1 CACC).
The Bears secured a 40-33 lead heading into halftime before increasing their surplus to a game-best 24 points after a
Tariq McKenith (Fr.-Newark, N.J.) free throw put the home team ahead 84-60 with 1:28 to go in regulation.
Bloomfield's
Nick Davidson (Sr.-Lumberton, N.J.) provided a superstar senior day performance for the victors with 40 points, including an amazing 19-of-20 shooting effort from the charity stripe.
Rakwan Kelly (Sr.-Newark, N.J.) deposited 12 for the Bears in the triumph.
As for the Lions,
Nikola Vujoic is now 33 points shy of 1,000 for his career with GCU as the junior netted a team-best 17 points vs. Bloomfield. Georgian Court's all-time leading scorer,
Juwuan Carter, poured in 13 in Saturday's setback.
GCU now returns home to close out the campaign, starting with an 8:00 p.m. CACC contest this Wednesday vs. Wilmington University
