Bloomfield, N.J. - Rookie sensation
Krystal Hund collected four goals in leading Georgian Court University to a 5-0 blanking of Bloomfield College Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action.
GCU (4-2) earns its fourth straight victory while remaining perfect in conference play at 3-0. The Bears slip to 1-5 on the year (0-2 CACC).
Hund put the Lions on the board a mere 58 seconds into the match when the Toms River, N.J. native chipped a
Kristen Lister feed over the Bloomfield keeper's head. She was back at it in the eighth minute (7:14) after breaking away with a
Jane Paschen pass and connecting on the other end. The first-half hat trick was accomplished when Hund swiped the ball from a Bloomfield defender and deposited goal number three at 21:36.
It would be about 50 minutes before the Lions' (and Hund's) next tally took place when she ripped a
Kaitlin Lister helper to provide GCU a commanding 4-0 surplus at 71:19. Lister got into the act herself at 78:03 after dribbling past the Bears' back line to put the contest well out of reach. Hund's eight goals on the year currently tops the CACC leader board.
Georgian Court controlled every facet of the contest with a 28-4 shot advantage (18-1 SOG) and an 11-5 corner kick differential.
Natalie Axelsson improved to 3-1 in the GCU net as the junior did not see a single shot on goal over her 75:56 of action.
The victors next trek to Molloy College Tuesday evening for a non-conference tilt at 7:00 p.m.
