Bloomfield, N.J. -
Javel Dawkins accounted for both tallies Saturday afternoon as the Georgian Court University junior led the charge in the Lions' 2-0 win at Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer action.
The victory provides GCU its fifth-straight triumph (5-1) while the squad remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0. The Bears remain winless at 0-4 (0-2 overall).
Dawkins snapped a scoreless stalemate with his first goal of the day, coming courtesy of a
Nicholas Moran feed at 35:20. The Stratford, Conn. native closed out the first half (42:10) with tally number two, assisted by
Daniel Vicente. Javel now ties
Louis Silva for the team lead with four goals overall, which ties for second among all CACCÂ players.
Despite being blanked, Bloomfield topped their guest in the shot column 13-5 (5-3 SOG).
Jamie Hickey picked up his CACC-leading fourth shutout in the effort, collecting five saves in the complete-game win.
Georgian Court, now tied with Holy Family University atop the CACC standings, next travels to Molloy College Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for a non-conference tilt.
