Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The Georgian Court University men's soccer squad continues to impress as the Lions secured their second straight 2-0 road win, defeating Molloy College Wednesday evening in NCAA Division II non-conference action.
GCU (6-1) has now won six consecutive contests with five coming in shutout fashion. Molloy drops to 2-6 on the year with the defeat.
Nicholas Moran started the scoring for the victors at 14:04 when the sophomore connected on a
Louis Silva cross in transition for his third tally of the year.
Daniel Vicente added the second score at 29:38 when the senior grabbed a Molloy turnover and belted in his third of the season from 20 yards out.
The Lions owned the shots column, 14-6, and registered a 6-2 advantage on frame.
Yianni Kavarakas, seeing his first action since opening day back on August 30, was stellar in the GCU net as the junior registered two saves in the complete-game victory.
Georgian Court returns to CACCÂ competition Saturday afternoon with a 2:30 p.m. home match vs. Dominican College on Investors Bank Field.
