Easton, Mass. - Georgian Court University women's volleyball closed out the weekend's Skyhawk Invitational in style as the Lions took down Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Felician University, in straight sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-20).
The victory gave the Lions a 2-1 record in the two-day tournament as GCU returns to campus with a 3-3 overall mark.
Shana Rayside, who represented Georgian Court on the event's All-Tournament Team, topped the squad with a match-best 12 kills in the victory.
Peggy Rosario drilled nine kills while also registering nine digs and four aces.
Jaime Sweeney distributed 10 assists.
Leah Wieland led the team with three blocks in the effort.
Earlier in the day, GCU suffered a 3-0 setback to host-Stonehill College (6-25, 17-25, 20-25).
Aubrey Binkley led the Lions' offense with five kills while
Trilby Kite shared a team-high nine assists.
Emily McCurley controlled a match-best 16 digs and teammate
Kayla Wilson registered four blocks in the contest.
The Lions will now host Goldey-Beacom College Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the team's CACC season-opener.
