Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University men's soccer squad coasted to its ninth-straight victory Saturday as the Lions shredded Nyack College, 8-0, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
For the third time in the program's six-year history, GCU netted a team-record eight goals on Homecoming Day, doing so also in 2014 (8-0) and 2015 (8-1) vs. Felician. The Lions, with 37 goals on the season, are just one tally short of the team record of 38, set by the 2015 roster.
Georgian Court (9-1, 6-0 CACC) scored early and often as the home team posted a 5-0 lead heading into intermission.
Nicholas Moran enjoyed his first collegiate multi-goal performance as the sophomore provided the Lions' second (25:31) and third (34:31) scores of the afternoon.
Jonathan Firmino started off the showcase with his second career goal at 19:53.

Yianni Kavarakas moves to 2-1 in the GCU net after the junior collected four saves in the complete-game effort.
The Lions now take to the road to face defending CACC-champion, Goldey-Beacom College, Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Del.
