Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad continues to register victories as the Lions finished off Felician University, 3-0, in the opening act of Saturday's Homecoming festivities at GCU.
The victors completed the straight-set triumph with scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 to register their fourth straight "W" and tenth win over their last 12 outings. At 12-5 (8-1 CACC), the Lions are just two victories short of the total collected by the 2017 roster (14-20).
A much-improved Felician team falls to 5-9 (4-5 CACC).
After not playing in Friday's match at the University of the Sciences,
Peggy Rosario returned to the Georgian Court lineup on Saturday, leading the Lions with nine kills and two service aces.
Amy Bruno contributed six kills, while pacing the team with six blocks.
Shana Rayside added four kills and four blocks of her own.
Jaime Sweeney and
Ashley Pierson distributed 13 and 12 assists, respectively, while
Emily McCurley topped the team with 11 digs.
The Lions now rest until Wednesday when they journey to Chestnut Hill College for a CACC divisional contest. Start time is 7:00 p.m.
